I bought these for a 12 year old boy who is Dyslexic. He had been in Special ED at school for 5 years but he continued to have trouble reading so he did not enjoy reading. Once I started buying the Pokemon books he started reading more. These are simple to read and easy for him to read. After he reads a book I have him write a 2 or 3 sentence book report for each book. He must complete the book reports for every book in the collection before I order him the next collection. It took him a couple of months to complete the reading and book reports for the first 2 collections I bought. Now he has the books read and the book reports written within a couple of week. He told me the other day he is enjoying reading. Thank you Hidenori Kusaka for writing these books.

Loved the books. And love the story going on. I like how it tells us the readers why this stranger who in the game was outside the professors lab and tells us why he stole that pokemon and its great to see and find out why the team rocket was making a comeback. And it talks a little about the GS Ball. So, I really recommend people try out this box set.
The story is awesome and the art is amazing. I am also so happy to get to read the backgrounds of my favorite characters that I played as in Pokemon Silver and Crystal as a kid.
An awesome series though I recommend reading the first seven before this one! Otherwise the character appearances and story itself would lose something.
It's honestly a great twist on an old classic, and rather fun to read. here are parts where I smile and role my eyes a bit at how cheesy it is, but I still love seeing favorites and rooting on the 'good guys' as they try to trump evil doers!
Those who have already begun following Red along on his adventures through the world of Pokemon in the "Pokemon Adventures Red, Blue, and Yellow" volumes, you will definitely want to continue reading through the next chapter, in the "Gold and Silver" story arc. For those of you who remember playing through Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal back in 2000, you're in for more nostalgia and fun as the protagonists Gold, Silver, and Crys join in our heroes' adventures! This is the 2nd set I purchased 1st was Volume 1-7 now 8-14. This short Story's are very addicting. My boy can't wait to come home and read. The books are about 200 pages long some are more. It's published as if made in Japan. You read the book starting from back to front meaning Right to Left. Not like Amercan standard books left to right. The book is full of Art and small comics as well.

Came in nicely packaged and got here right on schedule. No dings, still wrapped in the plastic, everything completely accounted for (all books and the small poster).

It's the second Manga set for the Pokemon Adventures manga, for both the Gold/Silver arc and the Crystal arc. If you wanted a slightly more plot-driven and mature take on Pokemon, this is what you want to read. The art is always so nice to look at, and the first few arcs are still a great read. I've read everything 5 times already haha. Highly recommended for Pokemon fans.
Pokemon Gold and Silver were my favorite games when they came out in the US in 2000, and they've always had a special place in my heart. And also, I previously read the Pokémon Red and Blue manga, and loved it! So I had to get this manga box set, which is based on the Gold and Silver games and picks up where the first 7 volumes left off. The Pokemon manga is great, and I very much enjoyed reading these volumes. The Gold and Silver box set follows the adventure of Gold, an unlikely new Pokemon trainer, and his mysterious rival, Silver. Characters from the Pokemon Red and Blue manga (volumes 1-7) return as well, so there's something for everyone. There's an exciting story, lots of twists, and many characters fans will recognize, all of which make for a great read. I love this series, and I think its perfect for longtime Pokemon veterans and new fans alike.
