Great start to the series! There are certainly many similar series to read but what Captured has over the others is tons of humor. Dani is the abducted human and she is hilarious. She is spunky and silly but not over the top - read some of those too. What also works is that the attraction or romance between Dani and Dakhar is not immediate. As a matter of fact Dakhar has not even told Dani his name in order to keep distance from her. Dani calls him Big Blue or Blue because yes he is big and blue. There are little hints and acts of attraction on both sides but they pretty much are strangers to each other throughout the whole book. There is one sex scene that is abrupt but steamy. I would definitely like to see their attraction grow.

Dakhar is a space pirate that kidnaps others to bring to a market place for trade and sale. Humans are a rare commodity on this planet as Dani finds out once landed. Dakhar seems to be having second thoughts about her safety but does leave her with the seller. Throughout Dani keeps her sense of humor. I loved how she described these aliens in her internal banter. The one downfall is I'm truly not a big fan of the serial series. I much prefer one book with a beginning, middle and end.

This is the first book I have read by Mara Frost and I am hooked. Love the banter between he alien captor and our human abductee. Lots of fun, lots of laughs and excellent storyline. Going over to get the rest of this series. Highly Recommend.
So glad I found this gem of a series! I would have loved a full novel, well because!

Dani has won a trip to the space station in a NASA lottery (!) and after 8 months of training is finally in space, puking because of the lack of gravity. Her only friend on board is Jordan, a real astronaut, but both ladies scream their heads off when the space station is boarded by 2 giant blue aliens. They are taken prisoner! It is decided that Big Blue (as Dani calls him) will take Dani to her destined new owner while the other blue alien is taking Jordan to another part of the galaxy.

I totally loved this!! Dani is feisty and there is so much humor. Dani is horrified to learn she could be sold as dinner.... and when Big Blue asks her why humans eat cows then she screams

'B-but....no! Humans are different from cows! You can't talk to a cow!' I yell, and then add, "OR HAVE ARGUMENTS WITH A COW!'

On to the next one. Have I already said I love these??? (less)
Loved loved loved it! First book is pretty short but it starts out in space while Dani (the girl ) is being trained to go to explore the cosmos. Right away they were capture and the story takes you to on a ship with a "sexy" blue alien and has the personality of an "eternally constipated" person. Lol!!! He is frustratingly serious and stoic. No flinching or laughing from him in this first book. But oh when he takes one look at Dani's body for a "typical" physical exam, he comes to life. At this point the author brings him out of his shell. He is described to have violet eyes. They go totally dark when he is turned on. He has the best, most darkest of smoldering stares I could only imagine. I won't say what happens between them, but all his walls come down and this other side of him is on a pedestal. And it quickly disappears. The book described him so well, I swear I could see all of his miniscule reactions like I knew him. When his statuesque appearance fades for a few seconds, its like a reward for the reader, as well as for Dani. Dani on the other hand is far from boring and serious. She's hilarious and opinionated. So much that even when she's trying to be serious in her serious situation (being abducted and all) she still says hilarious lines. Even when she's crying she being funny! But when she's crying, you cry with her. Its just tjat well written. The author describes all of Dani's fears and normal thoughts and reactions that any human would have in her shoes. This first book was such a great novel, that I just had to read all three. This book is like the catapult of the series. It throws you far into space with it.
NASA is short of cash so they hold a lottery for one person to win a trip to the international space station. The heroine [Danielle] is the lucky winner. Aliens Dakhar and Kaveth kidnap Dani and female astronaut Jordan from the space station. The aliens intend to sell the women for big money.
From here the adventure begins. This first novella relays the events that happen to Dani and Jordan on the alien ship after they were kidnapped but before they were sold.

Mara Frost is a new author for me and I was pleasantly surprised at how well written this story was! The characters are well defined and the story line/plot was well developed. The sub-characters are strong and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens between [alien] Kaveth and [human astronaut] Jordan as well as the intriguing space pirate Vorak [who we meet later]! This novella does end on a cliffhanger but the final 2 parts of the series are completed so you can avoid any frustrating wait for the continuation of the story. I would have preferred one novel instead of three novellas but that doesn't diminish the enjoyment of the series. I just hope someone doesn't buy the first book and give a poor review because the cliffhanger prompts them to purchase the rest in the series, although what you pay for each novella combined is still comparable if not less than a complete novel price.

The heroine's (Dani) thought process and internal [and external!] dialog are extremely amusing! I enjoyed Dani's comparison of events and the various alien species that she saw to things she viewed on movies such as 'Star Wars', 'The Terminator', and 'Iron Man' [to name a few]. I think that these references made the story seem more realistic by representing familiar things to the reader.

I will definitely read more from Mara Frost! I love the strong plot, the well defined characters and the humorous banter between the characters -oh! - and the sex scenes are HOT too! ;)
