Fractured Souls Shattered Promises Volume 2 Jessica Sorensen 9781490409573 Books

This book takes up immediately after the events in the first book and finds Gemma disoriented and mad about what happened. The story as it continues is still managing to hold me captive to what is going on. The characters are so real that I am drawn to what they are going through. The story is interesting with bad guys who are dark but not deadly dark. The good guys have an edge of their own that keeps them from seeming flat and boring.

Gemma wants to trust Alex but cannot figure out how to do it when he never seems to tell the whole truth in any situation. Then there is Laylen, a vampire and Keeper who seems to have feelings for her knowing that she and Alex have been together since they were children, even if Gemma cannot remember it all.

Staying safe is the main goal for everyone but Gemma wants to rescue her mother from the underworld, and the torture she has endured for the past 17 years. While she makes her plans, Stephen is making plans of his own to sway Gemma to his side.

I have a love/hate thing with Gemma. I understand why she is the way she is but that does not stop me from disliking her for the way she treats people and then claims how her new feelings made her do it. I get Alex, he is a product of his upbringing and is trying very hard to overcome it. There is some action, a little hot sex, and a lot of whining from one character or the other. Still a book worth reading!

Fractured Souls Shattered Promises Volume 2 Jessica Sorensen 9781490409573 Books Reviews

Ok. So I loved the 1st book so much that I went ahead and bought the whole series. The 1st book was so suspenseful and well written... This one not so much. I'm not sure what happened, but the author either never heard of an editor, or just didn't feel that a nice proof reading was worth her time. For their to be grammar and spelling mistakes in just about every action or sex scene is not only extremely distracting, but frustrating s hell. Also there seems to be some confusion in the writing with previous statement that no longer match up. You'll notice when you read it, but I don't want to give any spoilers. Since I already bought the series, I'll keep reading, but I don't know that I would otherwise...
We find Gemma alive & well after her ordeal with Alex's father attempting to rip out her soul. She is learning to deal with the overflow of emotions after having basically no feelings for much of her life. She seems to forgive Alex & understands now what he put himself through to save her life. The goal is now to save Gemma's mother from the underworld and to ultimately save Gemma from becoming evil which is the goal of Alex's father. Laylen & Gemma become close as she lets him drink from her to gain access to information about her mother. But this only makes Gemma realize that Laylen isn't the one for her - Alex is. The electricity she feels with Alex is incredibly strong but when Alex admits his strong feelings for her, Gemma cannot say how she feels. We are left wondering if she is even able to feel love at all. Their physical connection is not in question & we are granted some pretty hot romance scenes between Gemma & Alex! The book was a little bit of a let down though since we aren't left with much hope for the future & Gemma seems changed - we wonder if she can even be redeemed.
's, recent title release, FRACTURED SOULS, (Book #2) in the, *SHATTERED PROMISES SERIES*, (An Adult/mature, rewrite, of her *FALLEN STAR SERIES.)

I pre-ordered this much awaited, *SHATTERED PROMISES (Book #2), FRACTURED SOULS, and was so excited to see it's arrival!

Gemma rescues her mother from the underworld; she gets to be a vampire snack; as always manages to be in the wrong place at the wrong time; Gemma and Alex, Gemma and Laylen and Gemma and her Freaky Fairy friend/enemy, definitely 'get it on'! (Not all four at the same time and very rarely in a bed), but this adult version crafts a wonderful storyline that you can't put down.

Jessica Sorensen, is great at what she does, and as one of the great paranormal authors of our time, finds appeals to young and mature audiences. *Research both, Shattered Promises and The Fallen Star series, before buying.

The Family, offers Sorensen's, novels immediately upon their release!

Picking up exactly where the previous novel left off.......Gemma wakes up from only what she wants to believe was a horrible dream but quickly finds out that because she can remember it....it's not a dream at all but more of a nightmare and she doesn't know who to trust. Alex is trying his best to protect Gemma from others and herself, but he has no real indication how to do so. The more Alex finds out about Gemma, the more his past begins to make since and not in a good way. Determined to find her mother in the Underworld, Gemma sets the group on a turn of events that she wants to take the blame for but little did she know the events were already at play and she was a pawn in the game....

I absolutely loved this book!!!!!! Jessica Sorensen is such a creative writer. I love how the characters are so believable and you get completely drawn into the story as you take this incredible yet scary journey with them. Gemma is so torn between what she wants and all theses new experience that its hard for her to know whats right and whats wrong. Alex is the pillar, but just like some pillars, his walls are beginning to fall as the layers are revealed and he learns truths he's not yet willing to fully accept. Laylen is a lost tortured soul who's confusion and hurt is strongly felt in the novel, just as Aislin emotions and confidence is all tangled up in the morass. I could go on and on about these characters that I've grown to love, but I will leave you to read about them and grow to love them as I have. Though heart broken at the conclusion of this novel, I'm eagerly anticipating the next one in the series as author Jessica Sorensen left me on such a huge cliff hanger........

This is a must read!!!
